Project Overview
Drip Like Coffee is a tender, atmospheric feature that follows Kali, a creative barista balancing the emotional toll of a needy boyfriend and a boss who refuses to take her ideas seriously. When Mel—an artistic and quietly confident new hire—joins the café, their working relationship blossoms into something deeper. As their connection grows, Kali and Mel are forced to confront the complexities of love, desire, and identity while navigating relationships that live in the gray: open, co-dependent, and undefined. Set against the backdrop of Brooklyn, the film traces their slow-burning attraction and the personal upheaval it brings.
I joined this project because I believed in both the story and the filmmaker. Anaiis Cisco is a fearless, thoughtful director with a strong point of view and an incredible work ethic. This film makes space for two Black queer women to explore complicated intimacy with sincerity, care, and emotional depth—something we rarely see represented onscreen. The production was a true labor of love, created by the tiniest, most dedicated team and an incredibly generous cast. While I wasn’t on set every day, I felt the warmth and intention in every frame. It was a joy to help bring this story into the world, and I hope it reaches the audiences who need it most.
